Your reading, your hifz, your prayers — all stay on your device. EsSiraj has no servers that store your data.

1. Who we are
This policy applies to the EsSiraj mobile application and the essiraj.com website (together, the "Service") operated by the EsSiraj team ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Data we do not collect
EsSiraj does not require you to sign up, log in or create an account. We do not collect or store on our servers your name, email, phone number, location, device identifier, contacts, photos, reading history, memorization progress, prayer logs, or dhikr counts.
3. Data stored on your device
The app stores your reading position, bookmarks, hifz progress, dhikr counters, prayer log and preferences locally on your device so that it works offline. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. You can export it to a JSON file from Settings or clear it by deleting the app.
4. Permissions the app requests
Location is used locally, in real time, to compute prayer times and the qibla direction — never sent to us. Notifications deliver adhan alerts and review reminders (if you enable them). Storage saves downloaded reciter audio for offline listening. Microphone, camera, contacts and photos are never requested.
5. Network requests
The app may download reciter audio from our content-delivery network, occasionally fetch updated prayer-time formulas or translation patches, and send anonymous crash reports — only if you opt in.
6. Third parties
We do not sell, rent or share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Our content-delivery network only sees the bare technical request, not who you are.
7. Children
EsSiraj is family-friendly and includes a dedicated kids mode. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone. The kids mode contains no external links, no in-app purchases and no social features.
8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because we do not store your data on our servers, there is generally no personal data for us to retrieve, correct or delete. If you have a question or concern, write to [email protected] — we'll respond within 30 days.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, highlight the change in the app and on this page.
